2008 Suzuki Hayabusa

Suzuki brought out the new 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa and there is more displacement, 1340cc versus the old 1299cc. Like the new B-King, the rider can choose between engine settings, but the Hayabusa rider has a choice of three instead of the B-King's two, there's probably something labeled "light speed" on the Hayabusa.
A Hayabusa with more power is certainly no surprise and if you are riding a ZX-14 you may want to check your mirrors, objects may be a lot closer than they appear, ... and about to pass. We'll see.

History; Originally owned by Suzuki GB and used as a roadtest/demo/development bike. It was built as you see now in 2002/2003 by Roger Simmons then Chief Technician for Crescent Suzuki. The bike was featured in issue 127 of Streetfighters magazine where it was described as "the trickest Hayabusa you have ever seen". Roger used it on the road and for sprints such as Brighton Speed Trials and at IOM Ramsey where in 2003 it recorded the then fastest ever 1/8 mile terminal spped of 133mph. Mileage when built approx 4,000, current mileage 5,127.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION 1300cc std bores, JE forged pistons, Carillo rods, balanced crank, flowed/ported cyl head, APE studs/nuts, adj cam sprockets, solid adj cam chain tensioner, undercut gearbox, MTC lockup clutch, modded clutch cover with Aeroquip breather, all built to the highest standards. Originally running a Mr Turbo Rayjay unit but last year it was fitted (by Big CC) with an up to date set up comprising of Garrett GT30/71R race turbo, Tial wastegate and dump valves, Bosch competition fuel pump, BRGI billet fuel pressue reg, billet plenum chamber, CNC block off plates, KN filter, RC 750 injectors, and all the other necessary bits inc Aeroquip unions and hosing for all fuel lines. Billet clutch slave cyl support, all topped off with more titanium fastners. All of this makes 280-300 reliable BHP on Big CCs dyno at only 6psi on regular unleaded pump petrol, loads of potential to make up to 450 bhp with this set up but you will not need it ! The engine has done less than 1500 miles in total and under 300 since new turbo fitted.

SPARES; Few spares inc left hand fairing panel, pillion seat/footrests/grab rail, assorted sprockets (new), hoses, clutch clyinder.
ELECTRICS; Full road legal working lights indicators etc, Power Commander + Wide Band unit, MPS air/elec shifter with built in compressor pump and alloy tank, Dyna shift light and minder, MR Turbo boost/Dynojet air-fuel/MRE shifter air pressure gauges + all std instrumentation.
OTHER STUFF; 5,127 miles, T&T, Alphadot security. This is a totally useable street bike that will out-perform ANYTHING you will ever encounter ! I have competed in a few Straightliners meetings with it this year with a best ET of 9.1 and terminal or 161mph, i'm certain it could go faster with a more competent, experienced (and younger !) rider.

Concentrating on innovative technical solutions, the Tesi 3D has been developed entirely by Bimota's in-house staff at the factory in Rimini, Italy.  The motorcycle is dressed in the traditional Bimota color-scheme of white, red, and gold and it's powered by the Ducati 1079cc engine.

While featuring the original Hub-Steering developed by Bimota, the Tesi 3D Concept boasts several new developments and refinements: The front and rear swing utilize a trellis structure similar to the rear swing of our DB5 and DB6 series' models.
Also the front suspension has been radically redesigned and now uses a pull-rod mechanism with the hydraulic suspension located low beside the engine.  Carbon body-parts and cowling, forged alloy wheels, and radial disc brakes are further features of the new Tesi 3D.  The frame consists of light alloy.

The Tesi 3D is equipped with a Ducati 1100 DS engine with a displacement of 1079cc, giving the motorcycle significantly more horsepower compared to its predecessor.  The electrical environment is developed by Bimota.

2009 BMW K1300S Revew ,Specs,and Photos

The motor is the biggest single area of improvement. Engineering development was handed over to the spanner magicians at Ricardo – the same firm that designed the gearbox for the 1000bhp Bugatti Veyron hypercar. This is the first time BMW has worked with Ricardo on one of its bikes. The result is a claimed 175bhp from an increased 1293cc four-cylinder motor that is much smoother with bundles of power and torque. It’s one of the best big-capacity motors on the road today combining lovely refinement with a racing engine snarl when pushed. And yes, it’s very, very, very fast.
Few bikes shrug off winter better than a BMW motorcycle but it will still need regular attention to keep it looking shiny. The uprated shaft drive means less maintenance and expense than a chain.  A few owners of the BMW K1200S previous model seemed to have suffered from vibration and quite high oil consumption but the new engine should stop that happening.There is no getting away from the fact that the BMW K1300S is a big bike – with a 228kg dry weight, it is never going to be a race-designed lightweight. However, the clever Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA II) system does a great job of hiding that weight. The suspension has nine potential settings to cover solo riding, pillion and both settings with luggage. It works brilliantly. The slightly numb front end is better than it was previously thanks to lighter Duolever components. Just be sure to avoid the Continental Sport Attack tyres fitted to some – they are not up to the best rubber.
At £10,165 for the stock model without ABS there is no getting away from the fact that the BMW K1300S is not a cheap bike…add in the essential ABS and the price hits £11,060. From there on in adding options obviously just adds more and more to the costs. ESA II must be on the list as it transforms the bike. BMW do a Dynamic Pack which puts ABS and ASC traction control together for £377 and saves £45. So to get ABS, ASC and ESA II adds almost £1000 to the £10,165 cost. You do get a lot of bike for the money however but it’s still a lot of cash compared to the likes of a Suzuki Hayabusa.
Spec up a BMW K1300S with all of the options BMW has to offer and it’s going to be an expensive machine. There are some must-haves though and the ESA II at £617 is one of them as it offers a great deal of adjustment and takes the guesswork out of suspension adjustment. ABS is another one. After that there are some lovely choices. Heated grips, hard luggage, Akrapovic exhaust, onboard computer and a quickshifter. Most are worth a look although we would give the quickshifter a miss as although it works just fine, it seems out of place on a bike like this.
